Two opponents owning multiple, varied units (using components) battle it out on a playfield. This could either be the entire game, or the combat mode of an otherwise realtime world exploration RPG.
Units can operate on ortho, iso and hex fields. Fields influence combat success, ie attacking a unit on a plain grass field from a forest field yields an advantage for ground units.
Two battle modes: player A's units all make a move, then player B's units make their moves. Or individual units make their move based on their "initiative" value sorted against all other units' initiative.
Reachable tiles are highlighted when a unit is selected to show where it can move to.
